My Approaches to Therapy
I believe that there is nothing more important in therapy than the bond between therapist and client. My relational foundation emphasizes the power of this alliance to facilitate and foster transformation that allows individuals and families to overcome challenges in their lives. I strive to build an authentic and unconditionally supportive environment that allows my clients to feel safe and comfortable in the therapeutic process.
In addition to my relational foundation, I draw upon and incorporate a variety of evidence-based modalities to support a client's individualized therapeutic process. These approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches.
